Jeremy Saland is the founding member of Saland Law, a criminal defense firm that represents those accused of crimes in Federal, State and Local courts. Saland Law also advocates for men and women who are victims of larceny, embezzlement, blackmail, harassment, extortion and other criminal conduct to build cases for law enforcement or to better resolve personal matters privately. Jeremy served as Assistant District Attorneys in Robert Morgenthau’s Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for five and seven years respectively. Jeremy exclusively worked in the Trial Division and was one of the original prosecutors assigned to the Identity Theft Unit, the precursor to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s esteemed Identity Theft and Cybercrime Bureau. After leaving the District Attorney’s Office, Jeremy continued to sharpen his skills in the courtroom as a Town Prosecutor in Westchester County where he served in a law enforcement capacity for an additional five years.
Jeremy gained invaluable experience in the trenches of the New York City Criminal and Supreme Courts where for years the spearheaded thousands of cases from inception through trial. During this time, he was assigned to numerous divisions including the Domestic Violence and DWI units while also supervising ECAB, the unit that reviews all police arrests and assigns those cases to prosecutors to draft and arraign. Similarly, in his defense practice, Jeremy represents his clients at all stages of investigation and prosecution. If a matter is one that can be resolved without law enforcement, with a lesser plea, a dismissal or trial before a judge or jury, Jeremy possess the knowledge, skill and ability to see a case through in whatever direction it may lead. Simply, Jeremy is not intimated by prosecutors or any branch of law enforcement. Instead of seeking the easiest resolution, and one that may not be the best of our clients, Jeremy will challenge evidence and allegations at any stage. Whatever may be legally required, Saland Law will examine a client’s options and present a plan of action that we believe will resolve your case in the most appropriate manner.
Jeremy remains active in the legal field and have been honored and commended for his service and advocacy. Jeremy has served as the treasurer of the New York City Bar Association’s Small Law Firm Committee, was appointed to the position of Town Prosecutor and was elected in 2016 as Councilman of a Westchester County municipality. Jeremy served as committee member of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office Association, the official not-for-profit alumni group of the New York County District Attorney’s Office.
